Latest Womens Team News

Season 2017 will be a big year for Women’s Football; not only at a National level, but also at the Hobart City Demons. This year, we will have a Women’s Team in our own right. Currently we have 15 to 20 Young Women (including Senior and Youth) at training and learning the game of Australian Rules Football.

It can honestly be said that we have some very talented players on the track. This group is going to surprise many people in the year ahead.

For season 2017 our Women’s Team will be competing in the newly formed Regional League, where we will play against New Norfolk, Claremont, South East (Sorell) and possibly a couple of other clubs.

The Regional League will be administered by the Southern Football League. We had sought to enter the new look Statewide League Women’s Competition, but our application was not accepted. We will be looking to be included in this competition at AFL – Tasmania’s invitation as early as season 2018.

As a group we are working hard both on and off the field to achieve our Club Goal of “BEST IN THE STATE”.

We are currently training on Monday and Wednesday’s Night’s at OGILIVE HIGH SCHOOL (on the small oval off St John’s Ave). Training runs from 6pm to 7.30pm.

The team is busy recruiting and we would welcome any new player’s (Senior and youth).

ALL FITNESS and SKILL LEVEL’S. NO EXPERIENCE NECESSARY; FUN, FITNESS and FRIENDSHIP Is what the HOBART CITY DEMON’S Women’s TEAM is all about. WE ARE A FAMILY CLUB.

New Player’s can contact Women’s Team Coach Greg Grubb on 0438 903 626.
